Souvik & I just got back from a trip to Danang, Hoi An and HuĂȘ in Vietnam.
We enjoyed the fireworks competition in Danang - such a difference from the firecrackers back home! Check out this bouquet in the sky -

The light & colour extravaganza didn't end there. The ancient town of Hoi An had the most beautiful lanterns on display and sale.

We stayed at the Palm Garden Resort. Could it get more inviting than this?

The only thing that prevented us from soaking in the sun was the clouds and the rain. Continuously!

So we wandered around the Central Market of Hoi An, which is a UNESCO Heritage site, and was built by Chinese merchants and shopped some.

We went back to the market in the evening to see the lanterns all lit up!

Getting up to speed

I used to be a serious, career-focused person for the first few decades of my life.
Now I've got the opportunity to make hobbying my career, for a couple of years, at least.
A day without agenda, no idea of the time of day, or day of week, day after day. . . punctuated by all the fun things I loved to do on weekends before - reading, jigsaw puzzles, traveling, shopping and photography. And to build some more along the way.
This is my journal, for as long as I can keep it up.
